O papel negligenciado do profissional de Educação Física após Mounjaro e Ozempic

Resumo

Os agonistas incretínicos, como a semaglutida e a tirzepatida, ampliaram as possibilidades terapêuticas para pessoas com obesidade. Entretanto, estudos de retirada mostram que a interrupção do tratamento pode ser seguida por reganho significativo de peso e reversão parcial de benefícios cardiometabólicos. Este artigo de opinião, fundamentado em revisão narrativa da literatura, tem por objetivo defender que o profissional de Educação Física deve ocupar uma posição central — e não meramente complementar — na estratégia de manutenção do peso após a interrupção de medicamentos como Mounjaro e Ozempic. A literatura indica que o exercício supervisionado, sobretudo quando inclui treinamento resistido, contribui para a preservação da massa magra, a melhora da aptidão cardiorrespiratória, da força, da funcionalidade e da saúde metabólica. A defesa da centralidade do profissional de Educação Física não significa substituir o médico, o nutricionista ou outros integrantes da equipe, mas reconhecer que a prescrição, a progressão, o monitoramento e a sustentação da atividade física exigem competência específica. A principal tese é que nenhum medicamento reproduz integralmente o conjunto de adaptações funcionais e comportamentais promovidas pelo exercício estruturado. Portanto, a interrupção da farmacoterapia não deveria significar o fim do cuidado, mas a transição para uma estratégia multiprofissional de longo prazo, na qual o profissional de Educação Física tenha responsabilidade claramente definida.
